Does anyone have any experience using Apple Laserwriters with their Apollo systems? I seem to recall a note to that effect not too long ago, but I can't find it now. We are currently using 240 dot/inch Imagen 10's, but they will probably need replacing within the year. It would be particularly nice if there were a convenient (i.e., *soft*) way to share the printer between our Apollos and an Appletalk network. Don't have the reference at hand but see the System Adm Guide. If you have SR9 you just make a printer config file with LASERWRITER as the the type, 9600 baud and pick an SIO line. Then bring up a print server as the manual says and you have it. The printer will work as a TEXT device, -PLOT option of prf is NOT supported but if you are further interested I can send you SCREEN -> POSTSCRIPT conversion programs. Oh yes the Laserwriter is set to 9600 for all this to work. --jim schimpf schimpf@utah-20
