[mod.computers.apollo] Public Domain SW, Cross Assemblers...

burati@ULOWELL.CSNET (Michael Burati) (01/28/86)

I received a reply to a posting several months ago about PD software
for apollo systems. The message implied that SUN Pub. Domain SW could be
easily ported to Apollo DOMAIN/IX and that there isn't much Apollo PD SW
out there.

Is this a common feeling? Does anybody out there know where I can
get SUN PD Software? (Sorry I don't have the previous article around)
Also, has anybody seen any PD versions of SPICE (apollo or non-apollo, but
preferably unix based)?

One more request, a faculty member just asked if there are any
68000 cross assemblers out there (ie to assemble for a Lexidata machine...)?

Thanks again in advance...

ps: Any info/advice whatsoever (even if you don't think it will help) will
   be greatly appreciated.

If you're looking for PD (read: "cheap and unsupported") software for
Apollo's, you should check into the ADUS user's library. (ADUS is to
Apollo as what DECUS is to DEC).
