anybody out there, esp. at apollo working on multi-media mail? this seems to be shaping up as a sun dominated field, as nearly as i can tell from demo and prototype material that is available or talked about, etc. however all this ends up being released, if it is, to what degree, to what kind of sites, etc. it seems that sun users may have the inside track on getting this stuff to run in their local environments. it may be distributed in binary only format, but a lot of us are probably getting used to that. a recent mailing to mmm-people said (in part) that "... the SRI Multimedia Mail Software (including MPM) may be distributed. A complete set of the binaries, setup procedures, and documentation in the form of UNIX man pages is available to any U.S. organization." mmm is certainly nice to look at, and will no doubt become a rapidly growing area. while i'm at it, who's doing X for apollos? --paul
