[mod.computers.apollo] talk

shmueli@TECHSEL.BITNET (Boaz Shmueli) (02/21/86)

has anyone ported talk(1) and talkd(8) to DOMAIN/IX?

srt@LOCUS.UCLA.EDU (Scott Turner) (02/21/86)

I've written a talk-like program. It opens a window on each node involved,
prints the various participants talk in different fonts, allows users to be
dropped and added, can be switched between raw and buffer mode, allows you
to make a transcript of the conversation, etc. There seem to be a few
problems with it that I haven't tracked down (not being very expert in the
use of mailboxes, etc.) but you should probably be able to clear those up
easily enough. It totals about 1100 lines of code, 300 lines of documentation
and help.

I willing to distribute this more-or-less freely. In practical terms, it
means I'd like to get something interesting/useful back from you. So make
me an offer.
