Has anyone in Apollo Land used the Alsys Ada compiler which was validated
for Apollos last November? We are wondering:
(a) if it uses the standard Apollo language interfaces so that Pascal,
C, and Fortran routines could (1) be linked to an Ada program
or (2) other programs could call Ada routines;
(b) if you can use the Apollo symbolic debugger on Ada programs;
(c) how the speeds of compilation and execution compare to other
Apollo languages;
(d) whether the package fits in nicely with the Apollo environment, or
you have to work in a separate "Ada" environment which cuts you off
from some of the Apollo features (the DM for instance).
Anyone have any experience to relate? The person I talked to at Alsys
(617-890-0030) gave me the price ($3095 for the first node) but didn't
know any of the above technical trivia.
