I don't know how you would do it with the prf command, but it is very easy to do with the lpr command. If you could get prf to call lpr, that would work out perfect. In fact, if you get that to work, I would be interested in a copy of the software to do it. Has anyone gotten lpr to work to a port directly? In my printcap I am trying to specify something like lp=/dev/sio2, but I get failed to get exclusive access.

This problem has been fixed for sr9.5. A fixed version is available from
customer services for sites that need to continue running sr9.2.3.
