Has anybody out there successfully gotten /usr/lib/lpd to work under SR9.5 DOMAIN-IX? I have a laserwriter connected over an sio line to a DN460 which is running /usr/lib/lpd. lpr spools the files just fine and the jobs get processed. The problem is that the only thing that comes out from the printer is the banner page. The body of the file is getting swallowed up somewhere. Attached is the /etc/printcap file I'm using. Any help would be appreciated. # # /etc/printcap generated: Tue Dec 16 07:38:52 PST 1986 # Modified 2/24/87 by SRG for use on the apollo ring. # # Local printers are: ailab # # # LOCAL printer: ailab # ailab|lw|Artificial Intelligence Laboratory:\ :lp=/dev/sio3:\ :br#9600:rw:fc#0000374:fs#0000003:xc#0:xs#0040040:mx#0:sf:sb:\ :df=/tools/com/dvi2ps:\ :if=/usr/lib/ps/psif:\ :of=/usr/lib/ps/psof:\ :gf=/usr/lib/ps/psgf:\ :tf=/usr/lib/ps/pstf:\ :nf=/usr/lib/ps/psnf:\ :sd=/usr/spool/lpd/lw:\ :lf=/usr/adm/ailab-errs:\ :af=/usr/adm/ailab.acct: Seth Goldman ARPA: seth@LOCUS.UCLA.EDU UUCP: ...!{ihnp4,cepu,trwspp,sdcrdcf,ucbvax}!ucla-cs!seth USMail: A.I. I have lpr/lpd running all over the place. It does have a bug in it, but this has been fixed in 9.5. You can probably get a copy of the corrected program from your local office. I would cat the file out to the poort as a test: "cat file > /dev/sio3". Of course, you should run the file through all the filters that you think lpd is running it through. If you need more help, feel free to send me mail.
