We just got jnet up on our VMS system, and I'd like to know how to send mail via BITNET to arpanet/internet sites. I found some documentation on CSNET-SH that showed how to use the SMTPUSER at WISCVM, but the thought of typing all that stuff in when I want to send a message turns my stomach. Is there a better way? If not, does someone have a program/DCL file that builds the punch file to send to SMTPUSER at WISCVM? One can obtain a command procedure called SENDGATE from INFO@BITNIC, the
BITNET Network Information Center. Originally written by Paul Kunz of SLAC,
this command procedure is available for VMS and VM, so be sure to specify that
you need the VMS version.
As you can see from the address I used to post this from VMSmail, some even
better things are under development.
