Are you nuts? I too am in favor of discussing security realated issues too, but not to the point of saying "here do this and crash any system." I just got through deleting the transactions mentioning the code that will crash the system. I dont want it broadcast to the entire world before I get to work in the morning on how to crash my VAX system. I would prefer that this sort of info NOT be published in a public mailing list. I agree with the idea of having a mailing list of VAX managers. I am sure that DEC has a list of managers and I am sure that DEC must have a system on the network. Why not have it originate from there. That way putting the pressure on the maintainer of the mailing list is justified and will be done in the interests of their company. That is the way my company handles such things with their computing systems, (which is a competitor of VAX so no names mentioned). Also, the company will be able to respond quicker and be able to describe work arounds, etc.. What say yee DEC? --Phil Dreyer-- Minneapolis, MN
