Logic says that if the system could do the BLOCK mode transfer and failed, it would log the error and do it in normal (address, data, address, data) mode. This could be the reason for the system showing the pages as static bad. BLOCK mode transfer are a new addition to the Q-Bus. Basically, it consists of the processor (or a device) sending an address, raising a block-mode-transfer-coming line, and then merrily sending a chunk of data without addresses down the Q-Bus.
