ok, i give up. we just got out uVAX up. i did all the right stuff by the book, but i can't get Decnet to look in the permanent database when it comes up. i've @autogened, @netconfigured, defined nodes, and @startneted (and, of course, installed the Decnet license), but when i start doing NCP lists and shows, the lists show all the data i want but the shows don't. once i do all the same sets that are already defined, the net comes up fine, but the books seem to say that the volatile database should be initialize to the contents of the permanent database. what am i doing wrong? we just got this ethernet to connect the uVAX to our 750 so i'm not a Decnet wiz and may be missing something easy. (it's also not really an ethernet, but one of those fake ethers dec sells.) any guesses would be appreciated. provan@lll-mfe.arpa
