I have a user on another computer system with the following problem, I know this rings a bell, but I can't remember what the solution is. Can anyone help. I will pass along the info. Thanks. >Ron, >During my boot, I get the following message: > %MOUNT-I-REDCACHE, volume mounted with reduced cache size >immediately after the MOUNTED message for our scratch disk. Any ideas what >causes this? The message is not listed in the Messages manual. I haven't >been able to find any information about it. No apparent effect on system >operation, but we may have poorer performance because of it. >Just wondered if you might have seen this before. Thanks. >Bruce Ron Tencati JPL-VLSI.ARPA

It is displayed when you mount the disk with the /processor=unique switch. According to TSC hotline, this is not a valid switch anymore but they did not disable it. From what I hear if you continue to use the disk mounted this way you will need to restore it soon. You should mount it without the switch and then analyze/disk/repair to make sure the structure is good. Greg Caetano GenRad Inc 300 Baker Ave Concord, Mass 01742 decvax!genrad!panda!gjc
