[mod.computers.vax] TPU question

TOLLIVER%ORN.MFENET@LLL-MFE.ARPA (02/22/86)

Does anyone know if there is a way to determine the current line number
in TPU? I would like to display it on the status line, if available.

I've never used EMACS, but I've used FINE, which is similar. FINE
displays a percent of buffer on the status line. I would like to perform
a similar operation with TPU.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
John Tolliver

I don't know anything about TPU. But please note that what you want
is the number of the current character, not the current line, to get
the correct percentage. Otherwise, if lines above are unusally long
and lines below unusually short, or vice versa, the percentage could
be quite inaccurate.
