I seem to remember a while back someone mentioning problems with sharing images that are protected with ACLs. I'm in that situation now, and I can't remember the result of the problem discussion. We're currently running v4.1, but we're will be going to v4.2 soon. We have a large engineering program (PATRAN) that is protected with an ACL so only a group of students can access it, and I'd like to share it to cut down the beating the system takes when several students run it at the same time. I thought DEC had cotten ACLs on shared sections all cleaned up in V4.2, but the V4.3 release notes include a couple of paragraphs describing changes in support for /EXECUTE_ONLY images. The patch list also documents ECO 48, "Correct the protection masks set up in shareable logical name table protection."
