Since somebody else's SPR got strange results, I'll try this way: In the May VAX/VMS Systems Dispatch, on Page 65, is a response that claims to address the problem of SET HOST/DTE/DIAL support for DEC's DF112 modems. The response says that "As of VAX/VMS Version 4.2, SET HOST/DTE/DIAL supports the DF112." This is labeled "Seq. 56.80.8". Well, I tried it under 4.3 and got the usual, expected: $ set host /dte/dial=(number:xxxxx#,modem:df112) txa1: %LIB-E-ACTIMAGE, error activating image DUA0:[SYS0.][SYSLIB]DTE_DF112.EXE; -RMS-E-FNF, file not found %RMS-E-FNF, file not found The Response indicates that it is a documentation problem to be corrected in a future release after 4.2, and that the functionality should be there in 4.2. I find neither documentation nor function in 4.3. Has anybody else tried it to see whether they really do support it? I can't find that dialer image lying about anywhere, waiting to be installed. If someone could tell me where to look... Thanks for your help. --Bob Sutterfield OCES VAX System Manager IRCC Facilities Management The Ohio State University bob%osuag.uucp@ohio-state.arpa
