Subject: Bootstrap problem RSTS V9.1

I am fully aware that booting RSTS is not a VAX related topic, but I
do hope that there is someone reading this message who does know
something about RSTS.

We are using a PDP11/44 with 2 Mb, 3 RM02 equivalents and an Emulex
TC11 with a Kennedy 9300 dual density tapeunit. We get 800 BPI (8MT9)
distribution kits from Digital SDC. Up to version 9.0 we've always
been perfectly able to boot from new software distribution tapes.
The Emulex TC11 seemed sufficiently compatible with DEC's TM11.

RSTS V9.1 is the first release using the new universal bootstrap,
MGBOOT, which should work on all three tapeunit types, MT, MM and MS.
However, it does NOT work on our TC11/K9300 combination.
The K9300 reads the boot block and then the cpu halts at location 20.

Local software support didn't know of any problem.

Has anybody seen this problem? Does anyone know a work-around?

Thanks in advance.
