I need some advice from the hardware experts. We have upgraded one of the two memory controllers on our 780 to handle the 64k chip memory. We are currently running 8MB of the new style memory and 4MB in the old style controller. How much faster is the new style vs. old style memory? Based on the access times, how much performance are we losing by still using the 16k chip boards and controller? Are we creating timing conflicts between the two controllers and thus reducing performance? And is Lee Majors really happy? (Sorry...my "inquiring mind" let that one slip) I would appreciate answers that people are sure of. I have done enough guessing about this issue for everyone on INFO-VAX. Actually I will take any advice since it is cheap. Thanks. - Andy Grigor The Ballistic Research Lab A.P.G., MD <FLASH@BRL-LFD.ARPA>
