[mod.computers.vax] VMS V4.4 & Sys date/time boot prompting

zar%Xhmeia.Caltech.Edu@HAMLET.CALTECH.EDU.UUCP (05/26/86)

1) We have a site that was just upgraded (updated? --- DEC gets technical here)
to VMS V4.4 with eagles and applied the 4.2 SI patch and everything appears
   to work.
2) Lately during power failures (surges/laggs), the VAX won't prompt at boot
for the date/time. When we had another last week, I powered off the LSI
and clock and the system still wouldn't prompt for date/time (it continued
and booted at July ?, 1986 (other times it thought it was sometime in
August --- just the two times have appeared). Is there a register I can
change to force the VAX to prompt for system time (maybe this is a SYSGEN
   parameter?)?

The SYSGEN parameter you are looking for is SETTIME, if set to 1 VMS will
prompt for the date and time each time the system is booted.
