We finished installing VMS V4.4 on our cluster a few days ago with no problems and tried to turn on a cluster Alias node. The NCP commands DEFINE EXEC ALIAS NODE SHAKES and DEFINE EXEC ALIAS INCOMING ENABLED were issued on two of our cluster nodes, and DECnet shutdown and restarted. Soon after DECnet is running and I attempt to test the new "node" the machines both crash with the following bugcheck: Version of system: VAX/VMS VERSION V4.4 VAXcluster node name: JULIET Reason for BUGCHECK exception: NETNOSTATE, NETACP - no state transition Process currently executing: NETACP Current image file: HSC$DUA0:[SYS2.SYSCOMMON.][SYSEXE]NETACP.EXE;3 Current IPL: 0 (decimal) There is a short period before the crash where the alias node appears to work. Both nodes are type ROUTING IV. The behavior if *very* duplicatable. Anyone else seen this behavior? Anyone have a fix? Kenneth Adelman Caltech
