Perhaps this is a topic for some other newgroups, but my problem surrounds DECnet, so here goes: Some vendor's tranceivers only work with the same vendors controllers. Some work with others as well as their own. In some cases, different vendor tranceivers don't work with other vendors... Could someone straighten me out? Considering the extent of vendors providing anywhere from networking protocol software to ethernet tranceivers, where are the incompatibilities? I know IEEE 802.3 will help disolve many of the existing imcompatibilities, but my problems are here now, and IEEE 802.3 DECnet support is not. Please direct replies via. mail. Will summarize to net. Thanks in advance. ---------- | Don | UUCPmail: {allegra, decvax!brunix, linus!raybed2}!rayssd!d2b | Borsay | RAYmail: rayssd::d2b ---------- USmail: Raytheon Company, Submarine Signal Division, 1847 W Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871 Attention: Don Borsay, Box 130 Phone: 401/847-8000 (x3867)
