Anybody out there know what the AC and DC unibus loads are for a
Versatec 121 DMA plotter controller? I called Versatec and they said they
were 5 (!?) loads. I find this hard to believe but it is an older
contoller and could well be that big. They also didn't tell me which that
value was, AC or DC. I'm not even sure they know what AC and DC loads are
after talking to them.
DEC is finally starting to come out with these values in print. I
think the computer buyer community should gang up on vendors that don't
provide this information. It's useful. It's very useful when you're
getting to the unibus load limit, don't know that you are, and can't figure
out why your bus doesn't work. It's also useful when you're trying to
figure out whether or not DEC is selling you the right equipment.
