Is it documented anywhere in the VMS manual set that users should be removed from MAILUAF.DAT after they are removed from the system? When a new user accesses VMS MAIL, an entry is created for him in the MAILUAF.DAT file. DEC has provided a convenient way for system managers to access this file, a procedure called MAILUAF.COM in SYS$EXAMPLES. Recently, while scanning this file, I noticed several obsolete entries. That is, information about the mail files of users that no longer have accounts on the system. I cannot find any place in the documentation set that suggests users be removed from this file when removed from the system. Is there some reason for keeping them in there?
