I have heard that there is a version of Donald Knuth's typesetting program TEX available on a recent DECUS tape. Does anybody know which tape number? We are a VAX 11/780 and need to do technical papers on a LN03 laser printer, and have no way to properly justify and format text which will be printed using proportionally spaced fonts like C.G. TIMES. Runoff doesn't help much (except for the default fonts). If you have a copy of TEX (with a driver for LN03) or a similiar program I would greatly appreciate a response to ZCSTIN05@UDCVM.BITNET . Thanx in advance, Todd

The most complete, easiest way to get all of the TeX software is to order a tape from Kellerman and Smith. The thing costs $100 and you get TeX, Metafont, utility programs, loads of fonts, and a TeXBook. The LN03 driver works well and Flavio Rose is very helpful in diagnosing problems. If you want a supported driver, then you can purchase one from Kellerman and Smith. ---------------- Marty Sasaki uucp: harvard!sasaki Harvard University Science Center arpa: sasaki@harvard.harvard.edu One Oxford Street bitnet: sasaki@harvunxh Cambridge, MA 02138 phone: 617-495-1270
