So if you can't do that, you don't have Emacs. Saying that an editor is 'just like Emacs' if you can make Emacs act just like it isn't reasonable. Since Emacs can perfectly emulate EDT, VI, and TPU those are ALREADY Emacs by that standard. It is true that one can search just as well using some key other than ^S. But why should anyone have to? What's "TPU"? I missed the earlier post. That's right, you don't use VMS these days. TPU is DEC's new screen editor. It is way ahead of EDT, and it is heading in approximately the right direction, but it still isn't Emacs yet. ...Keith
