Warning! I'm sure this has been reported before, but... In the 1981 edition of the VAX Architecture Handbook, pp. 166-167, in the description of the MTPR and MFPR instructions, the heading for the numbers of the registers is incorrect. The heading indicates that the register numbers are in Hex, but the numbers are actually in decimal, i.e. register RXCS (Console Receive Control/Status) is really 32(decimal), not 32(hex)! Tom Perrine p.s. You can cross-check in the 82-83 Hardware Handbook. I *always* try to cross-check between these two books, as there are many other typos.
