[mod.computers.vax] process deletion, missing record delimiters, and GNU Emacs

Just a quick addendum to my note about processes being
deleted because RMS didn't see a terminator after the
last record:

I poked through the LISP code in Emacs that closes and
saves files, and there is a variable 'require-final-newline'
that tells Emacs to query if a newline is needed at the
end of the file. It seems disabled by default, so if you
have problems such as I've previously described, then you
should modify this variable appropriately.
