According to DEC, you will need PSI V4.0 before you can install VMS V4.4. The last I heard from DEC was that PSI V4 was in SDC and should be out the first part of August. PSI V4 has some enhancements beyond support under VMS V4.4, including: (From the "VAX PSI Information Sheet" the PSI group was handing out at DECUS) o Ability to connect one VAX PSI node to more than one type of network simultaneously. (e.g. TELENET and TYMENET and private net) o DCE support. Allows you to run X.25 back-to-back, without a "network". Conforms to ISO 8208 o CCITT 1984 support except for "multi-link recommendations" and "extended packet sizes and level-2 windows" on KMS/KMV devices. o Both PSI and PSI ACCESS can reside on a node, thereby granting access from the PSI node to networks connected to another PSI ACCESS node. o Interactive tracing and other debugging aids. o Some new networks: DATAPAK, DATEX-P, INFONET, TELEPAC. o New processor support: 8200, etc... BI-bus machines only supported with the DMB32 combo device. VAXstation I support dropped. /Kevin Carosso engvax!kvc @ csvax.caltech.edu Hughes Aircraft Co.
