>>> I'm looking for pointers to products that emulate either a Tektronix 4105 >>> or a DEC VT240. We're using Leading Edge and Sperry PC's with a mixture >>> of Hercules, Tecmar, and IBM-clone graphics boards. I'm currently using the SmarTerm 240 on a genuine IBM PC-XT. It seems superb. It offers VT52/100/125/220/240/640 + Tektronix 4014 emulation. There is an undesirable interaction with the latest ROM BIOS, which prevents TEK zooming from working properly, but I understand they're working on that. I'm also not convinced that the VT640 emulation is perfect, but I haven't a real VT640 with which to compare it --- only some software which claims to drive a VT640. Also I can't seem to get Tektronix 'write-through' to work. Despite these points, I'd have no hesitation in recomending it. It also offers dumb and intelligent file transfer.
