This is an odd-ball for INFO-VAX, and I apologize for that. However I suspect that the nature of our jobs is sufficiently similar that some of you may be able to assist me here. I belong to a "Professional and Managerial Association" on our university campus. PMA is a relatively new and distinct bargaining unit here, distinct from the more general "Staff Association" and specific unions. PMA was formed because it was generally felt that our needs and wants differed from those of other staff. We are in the middle of trying to assemble a suitable personnel policy which recognizes these differences, and which will be acceptable to our membership as well as the university itself. In Ontario (Canada) we are apparently unique, and that is the reason I am asking the following on the net. Do any of you have or belong to a similar organization where you work? If you do, is there a distinct personnel policy that deals with your employee group? And is it generally available to another interested party (ie our PMA, through me)? If so, and a copy could be mailed to me, I would be very appreciative. If it can be sent by the net, so much the better (but I'm not really expecting that). If you can send me anything, please ack to me on the net so I can notify my associates if anything is coming. And thankyou for putting up with this on INFO-VAX, whether or not you can help.
