one of the reasons that stevie ray vaughan didn't go on tour with bowie ( besides the fact that he thought that $300 a night was pretty crummy money for such a big deal tour,) was that he was pissed off about the video for "let's dance", in which it appears that bowie, ( a mediocre guitarist at best, god bless 'im!) plays the lead guitar figures at the end...

Another reason Stevie Ray Vaughn didn't tour with Bowie was that Bowie's management insisted that SRV not mention his new solo album in any interviews SRV gave while on the Bowie tour. The report I read implied that if SRV and Bowie had been permitted to talk, all the problems would have been ironed out, but that Bowie's management keeps him very insulated.
