We want to run our console at 1200 baud, but it defaults to 9600. Once into "macro" console level, one can use the "SET TERMINAL /BAUD:1200" command, but this command, and many other guesses we made, does not work in the STARTF.COM file. That seems to be where the cmd should be put in order to set the speed before the console prints anything following a powerfail. Failing some syntax which will work in STARTF.COM, what is the earliest .COM file read by ED0AA? Maybe there's some hardware strapping way of setting the default, that would be acceptable, but not as nice. While I'm here, is there any to avoid powercycling the entire cpu when the console hangs? On 780's you can just reboot the LSI-11, but I don't see any suggestive switch on the 8600. Please respond to me (as well as to the list if desired), I don't monitor the list carefully. Thanks for any help. lepreau@utah-cs.arpa {decvax,cbosgd,seismo}!utah-cs!lepreau
