I do not have a micro VAX so I have difficulty in performing a direct exp. Question is "How long does it take to boot a Micro VAX II?" I want to reboot a running system and continue running. The systartup file will only contain a few instructions. (run 3 programs). No users will ever be logging into this machine. All DEC will say is it depends on the size of your systartup command file. That is obvious but also leads me to believe that stories I have heard about 5-6 minute boot times are probably very realistic. Can anyone confirm the amount of time it takes to boot a micro vax. Also is there anyway on a reboot of a running system to avoid running the diagnostics (ASSUMING THAT THEY TAKE A LARGE AMOUNT OF TIME DURING THE BOOT.) Sincerely, - Arthur T. lets see, on my MVII with RD53 and big systartup, about 6-9 minutes after the 7.6..... on one with fuji super eagle, about 2 minutes with same systartup... as for diagnostics, I remember reading somewhere that you CAN avoid them, let me check, but the longest time period is for checking the RAM (up to 10 minutes for 16Mbytes.... -ed
