[mod.computers.vax] Digital Font File format

SYSTEM@CRNLNS.BITNET (10/20/86)

Gentle people:

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could answer either of
the following two questions:

1. What is the "Digital font file format"?
2. What is the document number (and price) of the manual that
   describes it?

We have just received our LN03 Plus. We want to down-line load fonts.
Unfortunately, the documentation is explicitly vague.
On page 58 of the LN03 programming reference manual, where it describes
the format of the "load font file (DECLFF) sequence", it says that
"The font Record is in Digital font file format. This record contains
binary data that has been converted to a sixel format, as described in
Paragraph 6.3."

Unfortunately, paragraph 6.3 describes sixel graphics for raster
graphics, not for font files.
