[mod.computers.vax] MACSYMA

ABOORNAZIAN@RCCA.BBN.COM (10/21/86)

Is there a MACSYMA in the public domain? A VMS version is preferable, but UNIX
will serve. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know of any symbolic manipulation programs besides
SMP from Inference Corp. or MACSYMA from Symbolics for a VAX
    running VMS?

DOE-MACSYMA can be obtained from:

   National Energy Software Center
   9700 South Cass Avenue
   Argonne, Illinois 60439
   Phone: (312) 972-7250

Paradigm Associates supports this version under US DOE contracts
W-7405-ENG-48 and W-7405-ENG-46. For more information contact:

   Paradigm Associates, Inc.
   29 Putnam Avenue, Suite 6
   Cambridge, Massachusetts 02139
   Phone: (617) 492-6079]

The DOE version is quasi-public domain but as I understand
it, it is very expensive.....I thought someone mentioned several
hundred dollars....
