[mod.computers.vax] delua/deuna

steve@miduet.UUCP (Steve Lademann) (10/25/86)

We have a VAX 11/750 running BSD4.2 (soon to be 4.3) which needs a
change of Ethernet interface. We would like to put a DEUNA in there,
but don't have the slots/amps at 5v to allow this. So we're thinking of
putting a DELUA in instead. Anyone got any comments to make on the
compatibility (or incompatibility) of DELUAs and DEUNAs? We intend to
use Lou Salkind's driver - any mods required?

Many Thanks in advance

from our local expert:

Ed, as far as we are concerned the DELUA is 99.99% compatible with
the DEUNA. I have responded to 3-5 messages like this, so I don't
know if I sent one to this guy or not. If you could, how about sending
him a note telling him that they work fine here on 5 vaxes 750 thru 8600
and he can send mail to unixsys@utah-cs for any questions.

Thanks, peter
