I want to view current file protections and set new file protections without spawning the subprocesses, dir/prot and set protection. Preferably by calling a system routine from basic(or another high level language). Any ideas? Thank you, Pat Patchett

It describes the SYS$SETDFPROT routine which performs that function. gkn -------------------------------------- Arpa: GKN@SDSC-SDS Bitnet: GKN@SDSC USPS: Gerard K.
