Our site is pondering a proposal from DEC for a BI VAX. We have an 8600 currently with DMZ and DHU terminal lines (in fact more than we appear to need). DECservers were not selected because none existed when we ordered which had modem control, and all our users lines connect from a Gandalf PACX. We have one DECserver-200 on the floor now, and are planning to see how well we can connect through it. But in light of our budget, we are looking for an alternative which might cost less. Does anyone have a BI VAX with non DECserver terminal connections? Anything you are doing, regardless of how ugly, is of interest to me as a hacker, and may be of interest to our site. Our only real requirement is for modem control, so we can continue to connect through the PACX to other systems (some which were manufactured by other companies). Please stop laughing. Brent.
