Hi, We're currently researching the merits and pitfalls of various implementations of Modula-2 under VMS, with an eye towards making a Modula-2 compiler available on our instructional VMS systems. Since the compiler will be used in an instructional setting, it doesn't have to generate very efficient object code, but it should have a reasonably complete set of library modules. Modules that provide access to the VMS environment would be a plus, too. Lastly, one real requirement is that the compiler understand different source file record formats, since our users use many different text editors and file transfer programs, all of which seem designed to introduce record format mismatches with each other! :-) Any ideas? We'd appreciate any recommendations, suggestions, or pointers to further information, especially information about public-domain or reasonably cheap implementations.
