It has been a while since the problem nibbled at my heels, but as I recall, if you want LTA lines (LAT Terminal Server) to be connected through the VTA service (instead of just TTDRIVER), you have to make sure that the commands in the system startup file are in the right order. As I recall, you have to turn on Virtual Terminals before you turn on LAT. If you do it in the wrong order, the LTA lines get routed directly into TTDRIVER without going through VT, and if your line gets dropped (e.g., you log out of the terminal server), your process gets logged out (just as it would on a regular line, e.g., dial-up, if the line was set up on the system before the VT driver got turned on). Take a look at the order of commands in SYS$MANAGER:SYSTARTUP.COM, and try juggling the order in which you start LTA and VTA service. Hope this helps! Tom Blinn U. S.
