======================================================================== Iam intersted in knowing if DPV-11 and DUV-11 are functionally interchangeable. From what I understand, both are single line synchronous interfaces for Q-bus. Can DUV-11 be used for protocol conversion to connect VMS to RSCS v2 on IBM? Thanks in advance K. dpv-11's are good ONLY for using with Jnet (to speak rscs) on bitnet. They are inferior to DMV-11's for decnet applications since the DPV-11 has no silo and no DMA capability - it really is a piece of junk...... The DMV-11 remedies these shortcomings, but is currently unsupported by the Jnet people..... I've never heard of a DUV-11, did you mean a DUP-11 which is a Unibus sync line

I'm under the impression that a DUV-11 is more or less a Q-bus counterpart to the Unibus DUP-11. I have what I believe is one of these beasties in a communications multiplexer widget (apparently LSI 11/03-based), driving a 9600 bps sync line. If I correctly understand my scribbled notes from time immemorial, it is module number M7951. But don't hold me to any of this. /Bill

yep that's, right....it is only listed in the spares catalog's as it has apparently be 'supplanted' by the kmv-11. The unique thing about the duv-11 and now the kmv-11 is that it can by async or sync under program control. -ed
