[mod.computers.vax] mod.sources

sasaki@HARVARD.HARVARD.EDU.UUCP (01/14/87)

Many folks have asked me what the address for mod.sources is after
noticing my mention of it in a previous posting.

Mod.sources is a Usenet news group moderated by Richard Salz
(rs@mirror.uucp). There isn't an address for it per se, things get
sent to Rich and he releases code to the net. He keeps a directory,
and will mail you a specific program (if it isn't too big).

Seismo archives mod.sources. You can access this archive via anonymous
FTP.

For the truly uninitiated, anonymous FTP is a method of accessing
files using FTP (File Transfer Program/Protocol). When you use FTP to
connect to another system, you are asked for a name and password. If
you use the name "anonymous", you can use any password you want and
get access. The convention is to use your site-name, or your username
as the password. I leave it up to you to figure out how to access a
specific site from your machine, and how to do the transfer.
