Currently we have the E&S PS350 connected to a microvax via 19.2Kbaud serial line and we are planning on changing the connection to Ethernet. Our network runs under TCP/IP and the microvax runs under MicroVMS. When we approached E&S about this, they gave us the following information: 1. You have to modify your GSR's to correspond to TCP/IP and that they do not have any "official" version of this change. However they sent us an "unofficial" version of the changes. These changes actually correspond to Wollongong TCP/IP whereas we run Tek TCP/IP here. However the changes in GSR's look clear enough and we can make the changes correspond to Tek TCP/IP. 2. If your host runs under UNIX BSD 4.2 or higher, E&S supports TCP/IP. These points answered one part of the question clearly, that is, how to make the necessary changes at the host end of the software. We have so far been unable to get any solid answers as to how to make the PS300 end talk Tek TCP/IP to the host and we are working on it. When we have any more information on this we will let you know. Ravi ------- ------- -------
