There is something very strange going on with one of our MicroVax II's and its system disk. I was wondering if anyone else has had this same problem and can tell me what is going on, or a fix .... We have a MicroVAX II with a RA81 system disk. Twice in the past 3 months, the system disk has become WRITE LOCKED, and NO ONE can access it, or the macine. All terminal access is dead, even the system/operator terminal. The write lock light comes on and there is NO WAY of clearing it. EXCEPT .. to hit the BREAK KEY, Power down and back up the system disk and reboot. Each time, there is never any errors for the device (using show error). Just before or during the system/operator terminal spurts.. %SYSTEM-I-MOUNTVER, _DUA4: has been write locked. Mount verification in progress. The machine is not used that much, yet.. But I hate to have this happen when it is .... Please keep your responses as simple as possible... I'm a novice at this..
