Since a lot of BITNET subscribers have been having trouble getting their names removed from this list, I am enclosing a copy of the "official" description of the INFO-VAX mailing list that I recently received. Essentially, BITNET subscribers must send the message "SUBSCRIBE" or "SIGNOFF" to LISTSERV@UGA while logged in as the subscribing username, rather than sending a subscription request to INFO-VAX-REQUEST. ------------------- INFO-VAX@SRI-KL INFO-VAX is a discussion of the Digital Equipment Corporation VAX series of computers. Typically the material is question-and-answer, where someone wants information on some program or bug/feature. Both UNIX and VAX/VMS operating systems are discussed. Archived messages are kept at SRI-KL in the files <INFO-VAX>INFO-VAX.ARCHIVE.1 <INFO-VAX>INFO-VAX-ARCHIVE.TXT.1 All requests to be added to or deleted from this list, problems, questions, etc., should be sent to INFO-VAX-REQUEST@SRI-KL. There is a BitNet sub-distribution list, INFO-VAX@UGA; BitNet subscribers can join by sending the SUB command with your name. For example, SEND LISTSERV@UGA SUB INFO-VAX Jon Doe To be removed from the list, SEND LISTSERV@UGA SIGNOFF. To make contributions to the list, BitNet subscribers should send mail to the ARPANet list name, NOT to the BITNET list name.
