Does anyone know how the 8600 detects an environmental alarm condition? What I'd like to have happen is if there is such a condition the VAX would use the autodialer to make a call, probably to the phone number which sets off the beeper someone is carrying during off-hours. I'm about to "go fiching" but am hoping someone might have the answer to this question already. -Jonathan. Bitnet: jhwelch@amherst

Jonathan If you would like to save yourself some trouble. There is a product on the market for about $250. It was in the Imnac Catalogue I believe. It monitor a computer room for Heat, Humity and Noise. If any went wrong it would call the program numbers and warn people. This device has saved me a couple of times at previous jobs. Eric S.
