1. Yes, it lets you watch all sorts of file system operations. 2. Yes, it needs priv's - CMKRNL should do it. 3. NO, it's not something to be played with. IT CAN CRASH YOUR SYSTEM. That's why it's hidden behind a CMKRNL barrier - run with CMKRNL, and it's your responsibility to be careful. It's my understanding that it's not LIKELY to crash your system, but it COULD happen. If it does, don't bother reporting the problem to DEC. (Though if you can figure out what actions lead to crashes, it would certainly be worthwhile letting the INFOVAX community know about it, so that others may be able to avoid them.) -- Jerry -------

While looking through some of my old INFO-VAX mail I noticed some comments
on a VMS command called SET WATCH (Supposedly Undocumented). Anybody got
the scoop on what this command does ??? I am running VMS 4.5 by the way.
