Anyone using a Dataproducts LZR2665 might be interested in knowing how the RS232 port works. Although the documentation says that switching to DTR/DSR flow control is done via the postscript SETSCCBATCH and SETSCCINTERACTIVE commands, the actual hardware doesn't support this without field modification. Specifically, on the distribution panel for the 25 and 9 pin connectors, a series of jumpers are used to jump the appropriate pin from the connector to some electronics on the board. Ergo, to use pin 20 (let's say) for DTR/DSR flow control, one has to find out which of the jumpers connects to pin 20 on the serial connector, and install a wire-wrap or jumper to connect this to the electronics on-board. This appears to be true for all pins (except ground), although the factory has thoughtfully provided jumpers for pins 2 and 3. If anyone ran into this problem and this message doesn't solve itk feel free to contact me. jms Joel M Snyder (jms@arizmis.bitnet), University of Arizona MIS Department, Tucson, Arizona, 85721, (602) 621-2748.
