Since several people asked me for a summary, here's the essentially info I collected about ANL's NJE software: (1) In the U.S., contact Dr. Richard Raffenetti <B25784@ANLVMS.BITNET> National Energy Software Center, Argonne Nat. Lab, Computing Services Division 9700 South Cass Ave. Argonne, IL 60439 Phone: (312) 972-8497 (2) In Europe, the "ANL Software Package NJE 4.00" is available from (order# NESC 0972/04) OECD - NEA Data Bank attn.: Dr. Louis Garcia de Viedma F-91191 Gif-sur-Yvette cedex France Phone: +33 69084912 (3) IBM and VAX are connected via a synchronous line (DUP11 or DMF32). (4) The VAX apperears as an end node in a standard IBM NJE peer-to-peer network. NJE (Network Job Entry) is the name for a protocol supported on IBM computers that utilize VM/RSCS, MVS/JES2, MVS/JES3, or VSE/POWER. (5) The NJE capabilities which are implemented include immediate transfer of commands and messages and store-and-forward transfer of print files and punch files as well as transfer of jobs from VAXC to IBM. (6) The software is distributed as source code (mostly FORTRAN). ==== Nonstandard disclaimer: The above material does *not* represent ==== ==== my opinion in any way & my management has yet to learn about it. ==== W.J.Moeller, GWDG, D-3400 Goettingen, F.R.Germany <GWD21T@DGOGWD01> Phone +49 551 201516
