I hate mailers that silently fail... On vax1, define a logical name INFO_VAX_READERS as @MAIL_DIST:INFO_VAX.DIS. Put three or more users into INFO_VAX.DIS. Log in to vax2, another VMS machine talking to vax1 by decnet. Send mail to vax1::info_vax_readers. On our system, we find that the third and subsequent users listed in the distribution file do not receive the mail. The sender is not notified of any failure. Accounting shows that the network job has exited with status=%X100020E4, network partner aborted logical link. Is there any way to do this that works?

I've mentioned that problem before. I ran into it a while back. I SPR'd it to dec, and was told: (After nearly 6 months of them trying to understand what was happening and starting over explaining it to 7 different people) o We don't support that o We don't plan on supporting that o You're s*** out of luck. o Go away. Needless to say I was underwhelmed.

I just remembered why I don't send mail to this list very often... I get a million bounced messages. Methinks the list could use some housecleaning. -Don Hosek
