Since I didn't see the original message, I will guess that the item
2 stated "a DIR file which has been renamed to something else."

The easiest way to find hidden directory files is to perform a
ANALYZE/DISK on the disk in question.  It will tell you all of 
the directories that do not have a .DIR file type.

     Don't know of any way to find out from DCL.  There is however a bit 
in the file header that says "I'm a directory file".
